Now that we're back to our regularly scheduled programming, [Har har.] I'll be back in the infirmary in a while. For any new people, I'm Doctor Leonard McCoy. I'm the Chief Medical Officer on board the Starship Enterprise, and I'm head of the infirmary here.

[Messages sent out, McCoy hesitated before sending another to Jim, because he really didn't know what to say to him. It had been a weird flood, and he wasn't exactly great at articulating stuff like thanks for bugging the hell out of me after I threw up on you in a shuttle because my life would really suck without you.

So, after going back and forth about it for a while longer, he got up and headed down to Jim's room, knocking on the door and waiting for his friend to answer the door.]

"It's open." [Jim called from his spot at his desk. He assumed it was Shego again, coming to bug him about brooding or just because she was bored or something.]

[Don't judge.

Bones didn't hesitate to open the door and step inside, letting it shut behind him. He wasn't entirely sure what kind of affect this had had on Jim, or if he'd even realized the flood was over yet, but they more or less invited themselves over all the time, it wasn't like this was out of the ordinary.]

"Hey. You alright?"

"Hey." [Jim stood up, sure that it was his Bones back because the other one never asked how he was doing.] "I'm alright. You okay?"

[And now it's in my head, thank you.]

"Fine. Flood's over." [He still felt a little weird, like you always did after this kind of thing with the extra memories jumbling around in your head, but.] "Could do without another panic attack in the near future, though."

[Forever united here somehoooooow]

"Short of a hole being blown in the side of the ship, I think you're alright." [Because you really weren't as bad as the other Bones had been. Not anymore.]

Bones laughed a little, trying not to think too hard about when that had happened back in October before once again kind of trying to figure out what to say about everything.]

"Thanks. For, you know-" [He gestured vaguely, really meaning everything. The panic attack, inserting himself into the doctor's life, dragging him out of his depression hole, all that. It was maybe a little scary to have that much of a reminder thrown about what meeting Jim Kirk had meant for his life at him.]

[That was a little too vague if you asked him.]

"That was nothing. I'm used to it."

[Damn it, Jim. Feelings are hard for Bones.]

"I meant for the rest of it, too. His life kinda sucked."

"I kinda figure that I'd be dead without you so. We're even."

"But you would've had cleaner shoes during flight training."

"A small price to pay, Bones."

The Doctor helped a lot as well. But you're welcome.

[Dean sounds improved. Not by much, but maybe a little.]

Do you give medicine?

[This is just because Steve has been looking for something to do with his free time.]

Y'know, if you ever need help with anything -- my ma was a nurse. I spent a good part of my childhood helping her out or, uh, being yelled at to stay in bed. But I'm good with injuries and things, so -- I just figured I'd offer.

[Steve, please continue being Bones' favorite.]

That'd be great. We could always use an extra hand when things go to shit.

[Man, this facetwin thing is always a trip. You're too young to be Arthur or Rex, but still.]

If someone comes into the Infirmary and they're hurt, I can usually make them better. Why wouldn't I be 'supposed to'?
