SIX | VOICE

[McCoy sounds slightly out of breath, and is trying to get this out of the way as fast as possible, because the crew members are eying those sharp things, and Bones doesn't want to be distracted when they start coming at him again. He's stunned two of them with his phaser by now. His accent is much more pronounced, and he's talking much faster than usual.]

Caesares was right, these things are trying to kick us out of the infirmary. If anyone can come help grab supplies before they - goddammit -

[There's a blast of phaser fire before the feed cuts.]

[Private to Jim]

You had better not be dead.

[Private to Sloth]

Where are you?

[Friends Filter - if you think you're on it, you are.]

Sound off,

[ooc: And feel free to spam in the infirmary as the horrible monsters decide to start kicking us all out.]

[It's not that Spock's glad there are violent creatures about. It is simply preferable to know what the creatures are capable of rather than simply making educated guesses and assumptions.

Spock finds his way to McCoy as quickly as possible. His primary focus is on the safety of his crewmates at this point. Although he shouldn't, he cannot help but consider those from the Enterprise to be more his crewmates than the rest of the passengers of the barge.]

Doctor. [It's shorthand for any number of things, including but not limited to: hello, are you all right, how can I best assist you, and have you heard from Jim.]

[There really is just so much anyone can carry in their arms. Spock finds the nearest bed and dumps out what he has so far in the middle of it before pulling the sheets up to create a makeshift bag.]

Curious that they should want the infirmary, yet allow us to take supplies. [Spock's scientific mind won't shut up, please excuse him.]

[The look Spock gives the creature in question is one that couldn't be confused with anything but sizing the thing up in case he needs to take it out. No cutting crewmates, creature. As he's scoping it out:]

I assure you, Doctor, I am giving the appropriate amount of focus to the question at hand. I am simply considering their motives and our options as well.

[And from the doorway there's the sound of... something like phaser fire. It actually comes from an object about the size and shape of a nightstick that Rhade's holding.]

They have no individual motive. They're acting as they're programmed to. [Like the assistant androids aboard starships.] And he's interfering with their job. I would suggest we move quickly. [He presses a button and the weapon he's holding extends to the length of a full staff.]

Where did you acquire this information? [Look, Doctor. Spock is asking the question but still working quickly to gather supplies into his sheet.]

Older residents mentioned before they used to be- [He paused as one nearby started to grab for something sharp, and he used the force lance to knock the scalpel away, and out into the hall] -be the former workers of the ship. At first I thought they might have been sentient, but then I recalled how all High Guard starships- [as he's talking he shortens the force lance again, and shoots the faceless worker in the head with it before it can chase the scalpel out into the hall] -possess non-sentient androids to do basic emergency tasks and maintenance.

[And he's turning the force lance into a staff again, because he doesn't want them to draw stray fire at someone he's trying to protect. It's okay that Dr. McCoy is complaining. Harper wasn't precisely the quiet sort, either.]
